During site migration, a mapping table is used to do the correspondence between source and target site groups.

You could upload these groups one by one directly in the Cloudiway platform, but there’s an easier, faster method. You can upload a CSV file with all your sites’ users in one go. Put the whole tenant sites groups in the CSV file, the Cloudiway site migration solution will only migrate what is necessary according to each site groups list.

This article explains how to upload the sites groups mapping table to the Cloudiway platform.

How to fill in the .csv file for site groups mapping table?

Scenario #1: Google site to SharePoint Online site migration

In Google site migration case, site groups are mapped to SharePoint Security groups. You will have to create them in the Administration Center of Office 365 and fill in the csv file with the related information.

Here is how you should fill in the .csv file columns:

  1. Name : Put the site group title.
  2. Source loginName : Put the source site group e-mail.
  3. Target loginName : Put the target SharePoint Security group loginName where you want to map the Google site group.

 

Scenario #2: Sharepoint to SharePoint Online migration

In SharePoint to SharePoint migration, the groups mapping table only concerns Security Groups migration. If you have Security groups in the source that you want to migrate, you will have to create them in the target Administration Center of Office 365 and fill in the .csv file with the related information.

Here is how you should fill in the .csv file columns:

  1. Name : Put the site group title.
  2. Source loginName : Put the source SharePoint Security group loginName
  3. Target loginName : Put the target SharePoint Security group loginName
