Problem

During a migration from Google Apps, you’re getting the following error:

ERROR: Fatal error during migration process: Unable to connect Google Apps client: [ALERT] IMAP access is disabled for your domain. Please contact your domain administrator for questions about this feature. (Failure)

Cause

IMAP is disabled on the domain.

Resolution

Enable IMAP:

  • Login to Google Apps Administration panel at https://admin.google.com

  • Click on Apps. Manage Apps and their settings

  • Click on Gmail

  • Click on Advanced settings

  • Enable IMAP
